DG.DERM™ Barrier Cream is a pH-balanced, hypoallergenic, concentrated silicone-based cream with a thick texture. It forms a durable barrier that provides long-lasting protection against body fluids and irritants and helps maintain skin integrity while moisturizing and conditioning the skin.

Key features

·       Protects skin from body fluids and irritants

·       Thin, flexible, semi-permeable silicone layer – skin can breathe

·       Wash-off resistant: the protective layer remains after at least 3 washes with mild soap

·       pH 5–7, hypoallergenic, fragrance-free and alcohol-free

·       Non-petrolatum

·       Moisturizes and conditions dry skin

·       Optimized texture may improve the adhesion of specific adhesive medical devices and dressings

Intended use

·       Protection of at-risk skin against damage caused by incontinence and associated symptoms (e.g. perianal irritation or itching)

·       Moisturizing and conditioning of dry and sensitive skin

·       Skin protection around stomas

·       Safe for use on both intact skin and skin affected by incontinence

Directions for use

1.     Before application, thoroughly cleanse the skin and make sure it is completely dry.

2.     Apply a small amount of cream (pea-sized) to cover the entire affected area with a thin layer.

3.     Reapply as required. Excessive application may result in an oily residue.

Incontinence care: if there are three or fewer incontinence episodes within 24 hours, apply once every 24 hours; if there are more than three episodes, apply once per nursing shift.

Warnings

·       For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes.

·       Do not use on open wounds. Not intended for the treatment of anal diseases.

·       Do not use on individuals with known allergies or sensitivities to the listed ingredients.

·       If symptoms persist or worsen after seven days, consult a physician.

·       Keep out of reach of children. In case of ingestion, seek medical assistance.

·       Intended for single-patient use.

Storage and shelf life

Store at room temperature. Do not freeze. Protect from excessive heat and humidity. Shelf life: 3 years (see expiry date on the package).
